Amazon UK Peak Fulfilment Fee 2026: What It Does to Your Margin
5 November 2026
Amazon charges a higher fulfilment fee on many FBA orders over the festive period, and it lands on top of fees you may already have budgeted for. If you sell on Amazon UK, the question is which of your products still make money while it applies. This guide covers what is confirmed, what to check and how to work out the impact SKU by SKU.
What Amazon has confirmed
Amazon Seller Central UK states that the festive season peak fulfilment fee for FBA, excluding parcel-size items in selected categories, applies between 15 October 2026 and 14 January 2027. Seller guides describe it applying to eligible FBA units in the UK and Germany stores, charged per unit shipped, not per unit sold.
The exact amount depends on the size tier and product, so use the current rate card in Seller Central for your figures. We have not quoted rates here because they are published by Amazon and can change.
Why it matters more than it looks
A fee of a few pence or pounds per unit sounds small. On a product with a thin margin it can be the difference between profit and loss, especially once you add discounting for Black Friday and higher ad costs. It is also charged per unit shipped, so returns and replacements can mean paying for the same sale more than once.
How to check your margin, step by step
- List your FBA SKUs by units sold in the last quarter, so the biggest sellers come first.
- For each one, take your current margin per unit after cost, referral fee, fulfilment fee, advertising and an allowance for returns.
- Subtract the peak fulfilment fee for that size tier from the rate card.
- Recalculate break-even ACoS, since your ceiling for ad spend has just dropped by the same amount.
- Flag every SKU whose margin falls below the level you need. These are the ones to reprice, restrict ad spend on, or move to merchant fulfilment where that works.
Your options for a low-margin SKU
- Raise the price. Often the simplest fix for a product that sells consistently.
- Cut or pause advertising on it, because every ad sale now earns less.
- Fulfil it yourself, if your own shipping cost beats FBA with the peak fee included.
- Let it run out rather than selling at a loss, if the stock can be moved after January.
Do not forget January
The fee runs to 14 January 2027, so December and early January orders carry it as well. Fees also reach your reports with a delay, which is why a per-SKU profit view matters. It shows each product's margin with the peak fee included, so you can see the effect while it is happening.
