What Is Linnworks? What It Does and Doesn't Show
9 October 2026
Linnworks is an ecommerce operations platform. It connects your sales channels and handles the work behind each order: bringing orders in, syncing stock, managing listings and automating shipping. Many multichannel sellers use it as the engine room of their business.
What Linnworks is good at
- Multichannel order management in one place
- Inventory sync across channels
- Warehouse management, picking and packing
- Shipping and fulfilment automation
- Listing management at scale
What it was not built to answer
Linnworks tells you what moved. It was not designed to tell you what that movement was worth. Sellers who rely on it for operations often still need a way to see:
- True net profit per SKU and per channel
- Advertising return across Amazon, Google and other ad platforms
- Automated cost-of-goods deduction on every order
- The effect of VAT and marketplace charges on margin
- Which SKUs and refund reasons are costing the most
Where a profit layer fits
WhatSales is a Linnworks partner with a native integration. It reads your Linnworks orders, stock and costs and applies marketplace fees, ad spend, shipping, refunds and cost of goods to show what each order actually made. You keep using Linnworks exactly as before.
See how it works on /linnworks, or the integration details at /partners/linnworks.
Is it right for you?
An example of the gap
Linnworks shows an order came in from Amazon for a given SKU, with the stock level and shipping status. What it does not give you automatically is a net profit figure that takes off the Amazon fees, the advertising behind the sale and the refund allocation. That is the layer a profit tool adds.
Who uses Linnworks?
Mostly multichannel sellers who need order and stock control across several marketplaces and their own site. Check linnworks.com for who it suits.
Can I see profit inside Linnworks?
Linnworks records orders and fees and lets you log purchase prices, but a consolidated, automated profit view across channels usually needs an additional tool. Check with Linnworks for their current reporting.
How long does it take to connect WhatSales to Linnworks?
Our Linnworks page describes a connection in around a minute once you have your Linnworks account details to hand.
If you only sell on one channel and ship a handful of orders, you may not need an operations platform at all. If you sell across several marketplaces and your stock and orders are the hard part, Linnworks is a strong fit, and a profit view on top will tell you which of those orders were worth taking.
